Open Your Lens: Share your story

The “Open Your Lens” project is a continuous series of Polaroid Portraits taken of those bereaved by suicide. Each portrait is taken after I, (Mione) meets with you - and learns about your loved one - sharing memories and looking into a window of your loved one’s life. Each year, more portraits & stories are added. These Portraits are shared via my socials with a blurb about our experience, each accompanied by a quote chosen by you - about your person. The physical Portrait includes the quote and is added to the continuous grid of connection.

As someone who has lost the closest to me to suicide, I wait each day for anyone to ask me about the people I miss. I am honored and captivated to learn about those you wish to be asked about - too. Consider meeting with me to share your story, as I would be so lucky to do so.

With this project, I hope to bring the memory of your loved ones back to life, make new friends, and lifelong connections. I hope I can give you a safe space to talk about the topic, a space to remember our loved ones for who they are - not simply for the way they died. I aim continuously to raise awareness and money toward the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in memory of my lost loved ones - and yours.
